I am a native of Massachusetts, born in Lynn and grew up by the seashore. This influenced me to do
Scrimshaw for a number of years and develop my drawing skills. My early art training came from the Decorative
Art World and sharp focus art. This experience gave me all the basic training I needed to express what I had
in my mind on a paintable surface. With this knowledge, I was able to paint with great enthusiasm.
I am a representational artist, and my art is forever changing and reflecting the course of my growth.
My paintings started from sharp focus and evolved to a looser, sculptural expression with the texture
from the palette knife. I create new expressions and versatility to my unique works of art. My paintings
reflect my personal expression on life around me. I hope to show others the beauty around them they may
never have noticed before, like an old mill on a canal or a rock with a beautiful flowering weed. Simple
things that we see but hardly ever notice.

Plein Air painting is a very important study for me. I have about 3 hours to get as much information
as I can onto a surface. I have to be deliberate on color and its placement, so I end up with wonderful
impressions of the scenery I am focused on. Plein Air painting produces more vibrant, spontaneous, impressionistic
artwork. These works are some of my favorites.
I now reside in Agawam, MA, where I have my studio. I diligently produce wonderful works of art.
I enjoy painting still life, floral's, landscapes, and seascapes. View my gallery and enjoy my work. I work in oil, pastel, acrylic, and
watercolor. Tomorrow I will add a new paragraph with the addition from my new ideas and techniques. I am
always learning and growing.
I instruct art classes in my studio and at the Holyoke Creative Arts Center.
I give demonstrations, lectures, and workshops in and around New England.
My work can be seen in galleries
throughout New England. I have also been featured in various art magazines
